Does anyone have a extra week I can borrow, cause I'm running out of time here!

I received this lovely gift in the mail from my blog friend Melanie www.jellybeanangel2.blogspot.com ,
It was so much fun opening this and I just love it. Look at that angel isn't it darling? I tried to get a photo of it to show just how sparkly it is, but I'm afraid I didn't do that good of a job. The angels wings are gold and they really do sparkle beautifully. I had been admiring the angels Melanie made when she showed them on her blog, so I was really delighted to have received one. She also sent me this towel and bookmark. I love Melanie's posts about where she lives and of her travels, so I was excited to see the bookmark from Bank Hall because I remembered it from her posts and the same with some of the locations on the towel. Thank you so much Melanie.
I also received my sscs from my partner, Kerry www.kerryswainscottage.typepad.com ,
I was Kerry's partner for our Christmas in July swap! I don't think I ever showed what I made for Kerry, so I'll finally do it now

The ornament that Kerry made for me is just gorgeous, it looks so intricate - it really is beautiful. I'm being a good swapper and won't open the rest until Christmas. Which is coming around too fast.

I finished my second Jolly Jingle Table Runner from The Happy Zombie's blog www.http://thehappyzombie.com/blog . This is a free pattern that she has offered and there my be a third one in my future one day. Scroll down a bit in her blog to November 14th and look at that yummy turkey she's made. Speaking of yummy, I've noticed that many quilting blogs talk a lot about cooking. We love to sew and we love to cook (or at least eat). There's a new cooking blog www.deliciousnessofyum.blogspot.com , that I've 'found' (actually in the interest of full disclosure it belongs to my cousins). Go visit them, they've only been doing for a little while and already have many terrific recipes.

Mine is all done! Thank you Melanie, for letting me join in. (Sorry not the best picture, it looks better if you click on the photo)

The good, the bad

The bad is that I started the week off with a nasty cold that dd#1 brought home with her over the Thanksgiving weekend from college. Worse than that is a car accident I was involved in. I have a little car, which did not fare too well against a large suv. But no one hurt and I'll get it back next week hopefully all fixed up. I'm grateful that we have a third car here for the kids to drive, which I am driving, it's a nice little car, but here's the frustrating thing, we bought it used and cannot get the car alarm removed without great cost. I am so used to not having a car alarm, that whenever I go to get in it I forget to deactivate the alarm and there's a big commotion: driveway, foodstore, park, library, school, quilt shop. Very embarassing.

The good is that I won Carrie's www.apassionforapplique.blogspot.com , giveaway! How terrific! Thank you Carrie!

My friend Olivia www.oliviaadventures.blogspot.com/2009/12/very-old-christmas-eve-tradition-in.html.blogspot.com , is having a giveaway (Blogspot is giving me a hard time about linking this, click "go to blog homepage and then down to December 3rd's post). Olivia lives about 10 minutes from my house and lately has been showing some very darling grandbaby pictures on her blog. I love grandbaby pictures on blogs.

Another ufo finished!

Thursday, November 26, 2009

I saw this on Jodi's blog www.http://www.pleasant-home.com . It was an easy task for a little bit of post Thanksgiving sewing (in between loads of dishes). It's for dd#1's apartment.

I have done quite a bit of sewing this week, but can't show too much of it yet. I did finish a ufo.

I completed my last bow and now need to get them together in a top

I spent too much time looking for a pattern for a gingerbread house. Melanie www.jellybeanangel2.blogspot.com , had written in a blog post about using a stitchery pattern as applique and it inspired me. So that is what I did with a stitchery pattern I ordered recently (excuse the strings and I need to put something on top of the pole). Thanks Melanie!
